Bull by Mathilde Watson was tale of bonding between an old bull and an average hotel manager. Bull was well written and emotional. I love reading a story that connects to me on a personal. I felt like the main characters were realistic and their concerns about themselves are relatable to everyday folks. I am glad that the author included a main character that was not physically perfect and I am glad she used the other main character to show that when there is love, appearance is meaningless. I felt connect to Roland and Dodge. I found it cute when Dodge was trying to court Roland and I hurt when the misunderstanding between the men causes unnecessary grief and heartache. I was elated when they finally bonded and got their HEA. Ms. Watson did an excellent job of writing a tale that I enjoyed not only for its writing style and story line, but for its connection to me personally. I loved it!

In addition, it is not often that I am truly surprised by a plot twist these days, but Ms. Watson accomplished that easily. From reading the blurb and seeing the theme of the anthology it was a part of, I figured BULL would be another cowboy love story. And it was and it was a great story. However, I was pleasantly shocked when I discovered there was more to it than a simple cowboy tale. In hindsight, there were clues throughout the story, though they were cleverly disguised. I love when an author can catch me off guard. It was so wonderful to read something that did not follow the typical mold and to realize that I could not predict all of the nuances of this story.

I recommend Bull by Mathilde Watson to everyone. It is fun, sad, loving, HOT, surprising, and so much more. I have now read this several times and I will continue to read this again and again. When will Corralling Nature #2 be released?

Drama is not a Spiritual Gift

I loved the first five pages, but the rest of this book is more like Carol Brown was trying to talk her problem out loud and hoping she came up with a solution. In the end there are no real heavenly solutions in this book. The title should have been "don't get emotionally involved with other people's drama". I agree that if you dump yourself in other people's drama then it will ruin you and your day but that is not a Spiritual Gift. I think the sad part is that Carol Brown's main idea never takes hold. It seems as if she was chasing someone else's idea and putting round pegs in square holes to try and make it work. I haven't read any of her other books so I'm just basing this review on this book. She is a great writer but the main idea falls flat and only one or two of the personal stories have any heart in them. I'd pass on this book because it appears most of the stars on these reviews are riding off her past reputation.

Illuminating Read

Ever feel like an emotional sponge? When you hang out with someone who is stressed do you ever "soak" up their drama? Or have you ever met someone and get a "vibe" that they have issues going on - their exterior looks happy but you just get a feeling that they're really upset on the inside?

If that type of scenario sounds familiar you'll want to read this book!

All my life I've had a "sense" about people. I've been able to pick up "vibes." I always thought it was weird and just tried to ignore it. After reading this book I realize being highly sensitive is common. After reading this book I realize it's not weird; it's just the way I'm wired! Finally - I understand now what's going on and not only how to cope but how to thrive.

I liked the way the author took spiritual concepts and made them easy to understand. I appreciated the combination of spiritual and scientific data. The book was an easy read. You'll want to read it once for yourself and if you are at all like me you'll reread it for someone you know that is a highly sensitive person.

I feel like now I have a better understanding not only of myself, but also of some of my family members, a coworker, a client, and a few of my friends.
