About the Author
Hans-Joachim Heintze is professor of International Law at the Ruhr University of Bochum. He studied law and published a doctoral thesis on the law of state succession. He joined the Ruhr University in 1990 and teaches at the Institute for International Law of peace and Armed Conflict and is the Bochum's Director of the European Master programme Network of Humanitarian Action (NOHA). He belongs to the Boards of the European Master Programme Human Rights and Democratization (Venice) and the European Regional Master Programme Human Rights and Democratization in South East Europe (Sarajevo). His research interests are human rights, international humanitarian law and disaster response law.

About the Author

Turan Gönen is currently a professor of electrical engineering and director of the Electrical Power Educational Institute at California State University, Sacramento. He has taught electrical machines and electric power engineering for more than 39 years. Dr. Gönen also has a strong background in the power industry; for eight years he worked as a design engineer in numerous companies both in the United States and abroad. He has been a consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Aramco, Black & Veatch Consultant Engineers, and the public utility industry. Dr. Gönen has written more than 100 technical papers as well as several books. He is a Life Fellow member of the IEEE and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Great book on power system analysis, focused on utility transmission systems. This includes a topic on system protection that great. I recommend this book for its clarity of presentation.
