Don't be misled by the plain cover and academic title here. McCann again delivers a gem in this teacher's guide to classroom inquiry.
As educators, we often talk about deep engagement for our students, and in this book McCann wisely delineates the various elements of inquiry learning, and he offers specific, rich lesson ideas that teachers and try or adapt. Along the way, he focuses us on guiding students to be the real agents of discourse in our classrooms--often transformed into a town-hall-like venue--and to write substantive responses to real problems that they care about and have investigated.
